Bafilomycin A1 is a macrolide antibiotic drμg and autophagy inhibitor. It prevents the acidification of autophagosomes via the inhibition of vacuolar H+-ATPase. LInhibits the proteolytic degradation associated with autophagy in human mesenchymal stem cells. At low concentrations, it inhibits autophagy and promotes apoptotic cell death in pediatric B cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
